Creating paintings has made a way for me to obtain items and services sometimes by selling work and sometimes by trading it.
Years ago there was a small shop in Dahlam Center where some of my small paintings were on sale. Duion had wanted a train set and just before Christmas, one of my works sold and I was able to have a small set under the tree for him.
I paid for tuition at St. Stephan’s with a painting to Father Pank. He took it with him when he left. I gave one to the Church to raffle during the Summer Festival
Geralyn was getting ready to graduate from eighth grade and I needed a new dress for her. I will never forget that sale. I had to open an account at PNC Bank as it was done on a Master Charge and the money has to be deposited in the Bank. I still have an account with PNC but I no longer have the Master Charge machine. Geralyn’s dress was very nice.
Almeta arranged an exchange of art for Geralyn’s dental work.
Tessie had a rod put in her broken leg with an art trade to the vet.
Mark received a portrait of his two children for work on my Volkswagen.
Harry sang at one of the Southwest Artist’s Festivals in exchange for a painting.
I still have paintings sitting around so who knows what trade comes next?
