CUMBERLAND FALLS changed my life. I was a freshman in the Art Class and had painted a landscape of the Falls with green reflections in the water. We had visited the area when I was in grade school and I was impressed by the green reflections on the water. My teacher came along, took my brush and slashed a blue swash on my water. “Water is not green!” she told me. Angered at this distress to my canvas, I made a promise to myself that if I ever became an art teacher, I would never touch a student’s work. I have always been true to that promise
