Dear Mrs. Furgason,
What a fine gift! Thank you very much for the letter and the figurine. It is very well made and expresses the emotions of the moment beautifully. I assure you, your figurine will find a prominent place in my new home.
I am deeply touched by the total support of the American people for the men and women who fought so hard to free Kuwait from oppression. These fine Americans went to the Middle East to endure the uncertainty of war and separation from their loved ones. But they understood and accepted their Mission when their country called on them to defend its national interests. Let me assure you that they answered that call magnificently.
Again, thank you for demonstrating your support for our troops in the Middle East. They deserved the thanks of a grateful nation. God bless you!
Sincerely,
H. Norman Schwarzkopf
