My Mother was a Licensed Practical Nurse on Second East of St. Joseph’s Infirmary in Louisville, Kentucky. Her compassion for the patients in her care who had painful bedsores led her to seek a way to bring them some relief. She thought using a small fan mounted on a handle could be of some use in that effort. Her cousin’s husband built a model and I drew up the sketches for a patent submission. Because there were limited finances at the time for obtaining the patent, the program halted. Someone else later developed that same model which universally became later known as a hair dryer. I do not see that daily remedy currently used in hospitals today and bedsores are still painful.
